Project Manager - Water Business

Location: Gaithersburg, MD; Arlington, VA, US Project Manager – Water & Wastewater Key Responsibilities Lead business development efforts, including marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development and preparation, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting. Serve as the primary client liaison, engaging in client activities and promoting Black & Veatch through client and community activities. Support development of market business plans, market strategies, and client engagement strategies. Oversee engineering managers and develop project performance goals. Account for implementation, including performance, commercial management, budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned projects. Actively engage with the internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities. Manage staff, including team development, mentoring, coaching, and recommending training and promotion for assigned professionals. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership experience in the DC market. Professional Engineering License; Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Strong understanding of budgets and financial metrics. Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search. Compensation Annual range: $126,360.00 – $221,124.00 (in accordance with local law).
