Associate Research Analyst Department: Content Editorial & Research Employment Type: Full Time Location: New York Reporting To: Sophie Storrs Compensation: $52,000 - $62,000 / year Description We are looking for a highly organised, inquisitive, and commercially aware individual to join the research team responsible for leading global reports that recognising the world’s top professionals and firms. This is a research-driven role suited to someone who enjoys speaking directly with senior legal professionals, uncovering market insight and using emerging technologies to support high-quality analysis and editorial output. Interviews sit at the heart of our research methodology, and successful candidates will be confident engaging with partners, in-house counsel and industry leaders across global markets. As the research process continues to evolve, we are particularly interested in candidates who are curious about how AI and new technologies can enhance research, workflow efficiency and insight generation, while maintaining rigorous editorial standards and human‑led analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering, analysing and validating market intelligence across the international intellectual property sector. Key Responsibilities Collect law firm submissions and client feedback, and use public sources to support rankings and editorial content. Become fully proficient in all research systems, workflows, and data management protocols. Conduct structured interviews with lawyers and corporate contacts under supervision, ensuring accurate and complete notes transcription where possible. Track, organise, and process law firm submissions for assigned jurisdictions or practice areas in line with required deadlines. Draft law firm and individual analysis summaries and data‑driven insights for inclusion in rankings and profiles, with guidance from senior team members. Use AI tools to improve efficiency and quality of output, including in relation to editorial content production. Produce clear, insightful analysis of research findings and draft high‑quality content for rankings and profiles. Support the team at conferences and events as required. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Strong organisational and planning skills with high attention to detail. Excellent written English and clear verbal communication. Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines. Basic research and writing experience; willingness to learn. Team‑oriented mindset and adaptability. Initial familiarity with LLMs and generative AI tools.
