Job Details Title: Ultrasound Tech Sr Department: Electrophysiology Worksite: Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center Appointment Type: Career Appointment Percent: 50% Pay Scale: $59.54 - $74.04 / Hour Filing Deadline: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Responsibilities Incumbent must have a strong understanding of ultrasound physics and demonstrate advanced knowledge of a wide range of echocardiographic procedures, cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiac abnormalities. Perform 3D echocardiography, strain imaging, and other advanced cardiac ultrasound techniques as assigned or per protocol. Follow imaging protocols and modify examinations to ensure accurate, high‑quality cardiac echo information. Record diagnostic images, perform accurate measurements and calculations of echocardiographic and Doppler hemodynamic data (at rest and with stress), with or without enhancement agents. Identify patients who require enhancement agents, place peripheral intravenous catheters, and administer agents. May be required to perform additional non‑invasive cardiovascular tests such as ECG, ambulatory ECG, blood pressure measurements, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and treadmill stress tests. Contribute to work organization and scheduling as a member of a self‑directed work team. Participate in training cardiac sonographers, students, residents, and fellows in echocardiography as assigned. Assist in personnel selection, review studies, and train junior sonographers under the direction of the technical director. Work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively. Float to labs in other clinic locations as needed. Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, after‑hours call, and on‑call duties. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Medical Sonography program or equivalent experience. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS). BART or BLS at time of hire; commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire. Four years of relevant experience for Principal level, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to place IVs (training provided). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications Registered Cardiac Sonographer issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Adult congenital and pediatric experience strongly preferred. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Capability to perform on‑call duties, including weekend when required. Employment subject to criminal background check and pre‑employment screening. Pay Transparency Annual full pay range: $124,320 – $154,596 (prorated for less than 100% appointment). Hourly equivalent: $59.54 – $74.04. Compensation determined by experience, skills, knowledge, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
