A well-established, highly regarded insurance organization in Connecticut is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance and accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant with property & casualty insurance and statutory accounting experience who is looking for strong benefits, work-life balance, professional development, and long-term career stability.
What You'll Do
- Take a lead role in the monthly and year-end close process
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheets, P& L statements, financial statements, and variance reporting
- Complete statutory and other regulatory filings
- Analyze financial trends, revenues, expenses, commitments, and variances
- Prepare financial reporting and provide explanations and insights to finance leadership and internal business partners
- Support and review the work of other accounting team members
- Partner across the organization to connect financial results with business activities and regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within insurance
- Property & casualty insurance and statutory accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and STAT
- CPA or progress toward the CPA is a plus

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within insurance
- Property & casualty insurance and statutory accounting experience strongly preferred
