**Exciting Opportunity for a Cat Scan Technologist!** **Job Description:** - Become a vital part of our healthcare team, performing complex CT procedures that make a real difference in patient care. - Utilize your professional judgment to obtain and review patients' clinical histories, ensuring all vital information is accurately documented and scanned into our PACS system. - Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with patients and their families, securely storing the information in EPIC. - Identify and administer contrast media relating to CT exams, always under the guidance of a licensed practitioner. - Double-check patient prescriptions to ensure the appropriateness of exams; work alongside Radiologists and Referring Physicians to secure any necessary clarifications. - Be the point of contact for verifying insurance, making sure all exam scripts are authorized for accurate billing. - Retrieve outside studies and schedule them in EPIC, ensuring all necessary comparisons are accessible for Radiologists. - Provide patients and physicians with exam copies and facilitate communication to enhance care and understanding. - Evaluate radiographs through our PACS System to confirm diagnostic quality and proper identification. - Gather relevant information from medical records and healthcare providers to prepare protocols tailored specifically for patient safety. - Ensure all patients are adequately prepared for their procedures by performing necessary pre-scan preparations, such as shielding and immobilization. - Accurately explain procedures and address any patient concerns, empowering them to feel informed and comfortable. - Conduct venipunctures and maintain IV patency, adhering to established guidelines throughout the process. - Monitor patients closely during procedures to detect any adverse reactions and respond appropriately. - Join us in a shift that runs Wednesday to Saturday, 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM, ensuring quality care for our patients right when they need it. **Required Skills & Experience:** - In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, along with radiological positioning. - Understanding of CT software and hardware mechanical attributes. - Proficient in using PACS systems and maintaining CEU credits. - Must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within the first twelve months of employment. - Obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire. **Preferred Skills & Experience:** - Six months of CT experience is preferred. - Familiarity with Epic and any other HIS/RIS systems utilized by the hospital. **Required Education:** - Graduate from a Radiologic Technologist program. - High School diploma or equivalent. **Required Certifications & Licensure:** - NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License. - ARRT Certified R.T.
