Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Ortho Trauma Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 1:5, with potential flex to 1:6
• Manage and monitor patients including polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures, ortho/trauma patients with downgraded TBI, burn downgrades, and patients with up to three drains
• Administer and monitor Heparin and Protonix drips per facility protocols
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Participate in unit huddles; expected on the unit by 1845 in accordance with hospital policy
• Float to all Med/Surg units as needed and fulfill a 4-weekend commitment per assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Familiarity with telemetry equipment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with orthopedic and/or trauma patient populations
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Strong team-player mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
