Companion Caregiver for Senior Recovering from Brain Injury and Cardiac Procedures

Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient companion caregiver to support an elderly gentleman who is recovering from a serious fall and subsequent hospitalization. Following treatment for a brain bleed, heart valve replacement, and pacemaker implantation, he is currently in rehabilitation and working toward regaining strength, confidence, and independence. Our goal is to find someone who can provide companionship, emotional support, and light assistance while also giving much-needed respite to family caregivers. Responsibilities Provide friendly companionship and meaningful conversation Offer emotional support and encouragement during recovery Engage in light activities such as reading, games, walks, or watching favorite programs Assist with meals/feeding Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and organized environment Observe and communicate any concerns or changes in condition to family members Desired Qualities Kind, patient, and compassionate personality Experience working with seniors or individuals recovering from illness or injury Comfortable supporting someone recovering from neurological and cardiac events Strong communication skills Ability to provide reassurance and build trust with both the client and family Schedule Flexible schedule based on family needs. Ideally seeking support for: Weekday and/or weekend coverage Several hours per shift Occasional extended coverage to provide respite for family caregivers About Our Family We are a close-knit family seeking someone who will become a trusted partner in our father's recovery journey.
