For all these reasons and more, our employee-owners have a strong sense of accomplishment and choose to call EOSYS home.The Industrial Electrician is a hands-on member of the industrial control field installation team with responsibility for the training and mentoring of installation team members (1-2 teammates).Responsibilities:Works independently with little supervision to successfully execute electrical and equipment installation projects/tasks both on and offsite.Ensures personal safety and quality standards are followed.Engages customers during installation project to ensure satisfactory completion.Engages customers while onsite to seek other project opportunities.Ensures organization of all tools and inventory.Performs installation and decommissioning of components, wiring and equipment.Assembles and modifies custom control enclosures and devices per electrical schematics and installation plan documents.Works with Engineering to test, check out, and troubleshoot large, complex systems.Runs wiring and conduit for installation of equipment and systems at customer work sites.Participates in continuous improvement activities.Drives company trucks and vans with trailers.Operates forklifts and manlifts.Coordinates and executes small scale projects with support from Installation Manager.Manages team member(s) during the duration of installation projects with support from Installation Manager.Completes and files appropriate project related paperwork.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentTwo-year technical school, trade school, electrical apprenticeship program, contractor's license or other related industry certificates or licensure a plusOSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training and SafetyFive or more years of experience in any of the following or equivalent experience:Industrial electrical maintenanceIndustrial electrical construction and/or serviceOEM experience with major manufacturing companiesSystem Integration and/or Automation equipment installationExperience working in an industrial environmentExperience in specialty terminations of industrial control panels and devices per electrical schematics (e.g., network cables, fiber-optics, various PLC and I/O components, etc.)Possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record as well as reliable transportationMust be able to commute to Smyrna, TN as the permanent job location as well as travel out of state for short term project assignmentsMust be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as requiredThe capability of achieving a Master Electrician or Electrical Contractor certification within 1 year of employment is a plusThis position is a combination of onsite and travel based out of our Smyrna, TN office. The role requires up to 50% travel to client sites throughout the continental US.Skills:Project management for installation projects, including but not limited to the following tasks:Understanding and planning for appropriate project start and completion dates and timeDeveloping and communicating the appropriate order of operations for the work to be completed to the team member(s)Identifying the appropriate tools and materials to complete the work, and ensuring those tools are brought to the location in which the work will be completedManaging a small installation team (1–2 team members) and ensuring the successful completion and customer satisfaction for the projectProviding technical instructions and feedbackReference and interpretation of electrical codes (e.g. NEC, NFPA, UL)Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics and control diagramsStrong knowledge of electrical fundamentalsMechanical and layout skills with enclosures, conduit, and trayPhysical Demands:Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusUsing hands to handle or feel or use objects, tools, or controlsReaching with hands and armsGeneral Office demands?Sitting at a desk or console for extended periods?Must be able to be fitted for Personal Protective Equipment for certain customersStanding and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods?Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surfacesLifting and carrying 50 lbsWalking/working in mezzanine (screen guard) area (20 – 25 ft. high, wire mesh floor)??Climb stairs and ladders; balance; talk and hearWorking from a ladder or scaffoldWalking/working in overhead truss area (30 – 35 ft. high)Working periodically in an attic or crawl spaceWorking in wash-down locations with wet/slippery floors?Must be physically capable of operating company vehicles and equipment safelyWork Schedule:Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Flexibility often required for short notice schedule changes. Regular travel and overnight stays are required for projects out of town. Travel requirement is 50% throughout a calendar year. Projects average 2-3 weeks in duration with overnight stays required.Work Environment:The work environment for this job is a combination of office and industrial setting with some exposure to inclement weather.
