Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain)

As a Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

1. Exercises supervisory authority to regularly assigned firefighters within a fire module or crew.
2. Performs administrative program management functions such as planning, budget execution, and stewardship of facilities, equipment, vehicles, and accountable property.
3. Applies an experienced understanding of firefighter safety, fire behavior, topography of the area weather, fuels, and training in fire management.
4. Plans action and direct utilization of fire line resources; directs assigned suppression operations and directs assigned suppression operations.
5. Recommends and implements tactical strategies in the field.
6. Oversees the development and implementation of training programs to comply with policy, regulations, and development.
7. Procures, maintains, inventory, tools, and equipment.
8. Supervises and directs fuels management projects that include prescribed fire, and mechanical and biological treatments.
9. Supervises and/or participates in fire prevention promotional events.
