Communications Dispatcher (Part-Time)
Location: New Castle, DE 19720

Pay: $16.99/hour
Ready to play a key role in protecting animals and supporting your community? The Delaware Office of Animal Welfare’s Delaware Animal Services (DAS) team is looking for dedicated Communications Dispatchers to join our fast-paced, mission-driven unit.
What You’ll Do:
- Answer and dispatch calls for service to animal welfare officers
- Enter call information into our Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
- Monitor two-way radio communication
- Provide callers with helpful information and referrals related to companion animals
What You Bring:
- Strong customer service and administrative skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Plus: Experience or interest in animal welfare is always a bonus!
Schedule & Hours:
- Part-time, in-person
- Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–7:00 PM
- Total weekly hours: 20–24 hours , 3–4 days per week
- Weekend shift:
- May work Saturday or Sunday
- Or both
- Hours: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM
About Delaware Animal Services:
DAS is the enforcement and community service arm of the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Office of Animal Welfare. We handle dog control, investigate animal cruelty, manage rabies control, and work to ensure the safety and well-being of animals, people, and neighborhoods throughout Delaware.
