If you're as passionate about your future as we are, join our team.KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Clients, Technology & Innovation (CT&I) organization.Responsibilities:Partner with leadership to define technical standards and scale engineering delivery across EdgeCos, account teams, and industry teamsWrite and ship production-ready code daily while taking direct ownership of the most complex, high-priority production challengesExpand the library of reusable assets, tools, and accelerators, championing modern developer tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Lovable where permittedChampion rigorous enterprise production standards, including context engineering, golden sets, evaluation frameworks, regression harnesses, and secure, auditable codeDirect executive working sessions with key leaders (CIOs, CISOs, CFOs) and engineers, building trust through transparent risk and progress communicationMentor Managers, Senior Associates, and pod leads, directly coaching team members while actively building to scale overall talent density and qualityArchitect production pipelines that route data dynamically between stochastic Large Language Models (LLMs) for generative tasks and Type 1 models (e.g., Jev) for low-latency, deterministic, rules-based operationsAct with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environmentQualifications:Minimum ten years of recent, hands-on experience building, hardening, and operating secure, end-to-end production data, ML, and AI-native applications across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud (GCP).Minimum five years of experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams in a startup-velocity environment; founder or early-stage startup experience is a strong plusBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a STEM field or twelve years of equivalent practical experienceDeep practical knowledge of frontier models, agent frameworks, Model Context Protocol, and developer productivity tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable)Full-stack capability with deep expertise in modern production languages (Python, Go, Rust, or Java) alongside structured evaluation discipline and model strategyExceptional storytelling ability to communicate complex concepts to CIOs, CISOs, CFOs, and skeptical engineers alike, combined with a strong bias toward owning product outcomesVerifiable portfolio, GitHub repository, or code walk-through demonstrating shipped workAbility to travel domestically as neededKPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries (“KPMG”) complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
