Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview What Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to Cardinal Health: Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care, including examining patients and administering prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and a license to care for patients. The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse supports the nursing staff at Urology Partners. They are responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care, collecting ongoing patient responses to care, and patient education. This position requires travel between Urology Partners locations at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland and Westlake, Ohio. Schedules will be made a month in advance. Responsibilities Record patient vital signs: pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height. Administer medications to patients and monitor the progress throughout the treatment. May administer injections or give treatments under direction of physician. Schedule or perform clinical procedures as directed. Prepare exam rooms for patient visits. Gather patient information and keep records updated with the relevant data. Maintain effective communication with the medical personnel, patient and patient family. Treat wounds, change wound dressings. Collect samples from patients, including blood and urine, and assist with some lab work. Ensure regular attendance and punctuality. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. Perform any other functions as required by management. Travel between clinics as necessary, up to 50% of the time. Qualifications Ability to travel between 2 locations: Fairview Hospital/Cleveland and Westlake (includes mileage reimbursement). High School graduate, or equivalent, preferred. Certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Ohio. Ability to administer injections, preferred. Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite, preferred. 2 years of experience. Prior experience in an outpatient urology or surgical setting, preferred. Prior EMR experience, preferred. At least 1 year of experience as a LPN/LVN, preferred. Location and Hours This position will work at both Urology Partners locations: 18099 Lorain Ave, Suite 141, Cleveland, OH 44111 and 29101 Health Campus Drive, Westlake, OH 44145 Hours are M-Th: 8 am–5 pm with 1 hour lunch break (½ hour paid). Friday: 8 am–4 pm (paid until 5 pm).
