House Manager Residential Habilitation

House Managers are compensated at an hourly rate of $8.00 per hour . In addition to wages, the position includes the following benefits designed to reduce living expenses, including housing, food and household supplies, utilities, and internet service. These benefits are provided as well as weekly overtime.

The standard House Manager schedule is:

• Sunday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM
• Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM - 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Summary: Provides direct supports to individuals with disabilities and serves as trainer and role model to DSPs by assisting with living skills, communicating and interacting with individuals served, facilitating community inclusion, maintaining an appropriate physical environment, providing transportation, maintaining finances, implementing the ISP and demonstrating the importance of individuals becoming active citizens in their neighborhoods, local communities and work environments.


Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required. Supervisory experience preferred.


On-going Responsibilities: Acceptable on-going background checks and negative random drug/alcohol screenings. Must be able to obtain an F endorsement for driving privileges. Obtain and maintain Medication Certification and annual training and refresher courses.


Essential Duties:

• Provide the supports required per departmental guidelines.
• Understand and implement current state licensing rules and regulations, agency policies, and procedures and protection of individuals' rights and protection from harm.
• Develops and implements curriculum for each individual to ensure a meaningful day.
• Works closely with appropriate disciplines (PT, OT, Speech, Nursing, BA Services, etc.) to ensure continuity of care for individuals served.
• Communicate effectively in all oral and writing correspondence. Completes various office tasks and utilizes the computer effectively. Must have the ability to read and write English language proficiently.
• Supervises direct support staff. Assist in evaluation of performance, provides input relative to hiring/termination of personnel and implements appropriate progressive discipline as needed.
• Ensures all required training of self and DSPs is completed in a timely manner.
• Follows the staffing plan and secures staff to fill-in when vacancies occur due to staff vacation, illness, resignation, etc.
• Provides direct supports to individuals with disabilities; lifting, turning, positioning, bathing, toileting, grooming, etc.
• Ensures that individuals are safe and living healthy lives by monitoring safety issues, coordinating, monitoring and documenting medical supports, practicing appropriate emergencies procedures, responding to emergencies, and promoting individual rights regarding health and safety issues.
• Transports individuals. Ensure pre-trip/post-trip inspections are completed as required.
• Attends all scheduled meetings/appointments.
• Post menus and prepare meals according to mealtime instructions and dietary needs.
• Supports individuals in their employment and vocational opportunities.
• Ensures completion of housekeeping duties, maintains a clean safe home and reports any maintenance concerns immediately.
• Administers medication according to company medication administration policy.
• Completes and submits required departmental reports timely.
• Clocks in and out daily and confirms employee punches daily.
• Ensures that required departmental data (daily notes, seizure reports, medication administration records, etc.) is collected and recorded appropriately.
• Purchases items, manages the house hold budget and individual's spending money. Submits receipts per departmental guidelines.
• Conducts/Documents/Participates in monthly fire and tornado drills.
• Maintains confidentiality of individuals served.
• Demonstrates teamwork and promotes positive interactions and attitudes among staff, parents, and all stakeholders.
• Shows dependability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance.
• Remains in the home overnight unless a substitute is obtained for time off.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
