Assistant Pastry Chef

Position Summary


We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Pastry Chef to support our Pastry Chef in creating an exceptional selection of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods. The ideal candidate is passionate about the art of pastry, takes pride in producing visually stunning and delicious creations, and is committed to delivering consistent quality while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. The Assistant Pastry Chef helps maintain an organized and efficient pastry operation, monitors product quality and inventory, and contributes to an exceptional dining experience by delivering visually appealing and delicious creations that enhance member and guest satisfaction. • Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing a wide variety of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pies, breads, pastries, and specialty desserts using traditional and modern recipes
• Support the development and execution of seasonal desserts and specialty menu offerings.
• Decorate pastries, cakes, and desserts using various icings, toppings, and finishing techniques to ensure exceptional presentation.
• Assist in designing and decorating custom cakes according to member and guest specifications.
• Ensure the quality, consistency, and freshness of all baked goods and desserts produced.
• Help monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and notify the Pastry Chef when supplies need replenishment.
• Inspect ingredients, equipment, and workstations to ensure quality and proper functionality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry station while adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Assist in the production and enhancement of the Club's in-house cake and bread program.
• Support banquet, restaurant, and special event dessert production as needed.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to minimize waste and maintain consistency.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely production and delivery of pastry items for daily service and special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the culinary operation

• Previous experience as an Assistant Pastry Chef, Pastry Cook, Baker, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of pastry, baking, and dessert preparation techniques.
• Experience with cake decorating and finishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in production.
• Working knowledge of sanitation principles, food safety regulations, and proper food handling procedures.
• Familiarity with specialty baking, including gluten-free, sugar-free, and other dietary accommodations, is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Culinary, pastry, or baking certification is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to continue developing professional pastry and baking skills.
