Overview Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel) position in Batavia, NY. Critical Care RN (ICU) with a mixed medical/surgical/neuro patient population. Start date: 08/24/2026. Duration: several weeks. Weekly pay: $1,867-$1,975 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour days. Setting: hospital-level care with ICU responsibilities. The assignment includes floating to med/surg units and coverage on weekends every other week. Prior to start, pre-approved time off may be requested per contract. This role requires EPIC charting proficiency, and adherence to unit protocols for complex acute care. Note: local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible; travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $1,867-$1,975 per week Shift: 3x12-hour days Start date: 08/24/2026 Duration: several weeks Floating to med/surg units as needed; guaranteed hours: not guaranteed Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for a mixed ICU population, including ventilator management, titratable drips, sedation, and care for post-op, cardiac/respiratory/neuro/GI cases. Manage vascular access and hemodynamic monitoring: arterial and central lines, A-lines, titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips, IV medications, and blood product administration. Assist with airway management (including intubation support and Glidescope use), monitor ABG interpretation, and dysrhythmia recognition with 12-lead ECG. Perform routine NCLEX-compatible procedures (IV starts, line care, chest tube assistance) and maintain strict infection prevention/isolation practices. Document thoroughly in EPIC, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Transport, Interpretation services), and participate in unit operations and handoffs. Requirements Licensure: Active New York Registered Nurse license in hand; education: RN degree from an accredited program. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS. Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU/critical care experience; travel experience required; patient ratio experience around 1:3; first-time travelers not accepted; previous charge experience preferred. Skills: EPIC charting experience required; ability to float to med/surg units as needed; capable of caring for a broad range of acute diagnoses. Logistics: Must be more than 75 miles from the facility; background checks/education verification reviewed case-by-case; RTO up to 10 days; pre-start modules (billable up to 5 hours; may total up to 10 hours) completed prior to start; foreign education verification may be requested.
