About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Women's Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Must hold an active RN state license or compact license Certifications: Must have ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications Must-Have: - 2 years recent Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor and Delivery/Recovery postpartum experience. - Experience caring for OB/GYN patients, including post-operative hysterectomy care, antepartum care, triage care, labor and delivery care, and postpartum care. - Ability to float to another unit as needed depending on facility census. Description: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments. Appropriately assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Circulates during C-sections and attends deliveries, assisting the physician as needed. Follows appropriate policies during the recovery and care of surgical patients. Attends the neonatal station in the delivery suite and assesses the neonate post-delivery. Keeps current by attending fetal monitoring certification classes every two years. Attends STABLE certification classes when offered and maintains NRP certification. Identifies necessary information to communicate to physicians and patients.
