About Us: The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is the state of Florida’s social services agency. The Office of Revenue Management is under the Assistant Secretary for Administration located at The Department of Children and Families (DCF) Headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. This Office is comprised of four units responsible for federal cost allocation and reporting, cash management, and revenue forecasting.

The Cash Management Unit is responsible for daily cash management and federal draws, investing and liquidating accounts, revenue monitoring, non-operating transfers, and cash receipts.

What you will do : This is a professional position performing highly responsible technical and operational analysis functions in the Office of Revenue Management within the Cash Management Unit. The incumbent in this position will be expected to function independently and with minimal supervision to perform complex tasks. Occasional overtime may be required. Time work will be adequately compensated.

Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• Creates deposit packages and process packages for scanning and record retention.
• Creates revenue receipt entries (TR30 scripts) and post entries in FLAIR.
• Process Debit Memos as needed.
• Creates JT (TR 96) revenue receipt entries sent by other state agencies.
• Processes both current year and prior year expenditure refunds including salary refunds resulting from check deposits processed or requests sent by DFS or HR departments.
• Research and identify receipts sent to DCF which do not clearly state what the revenue is for. Obtains the correct FLAIR coding information to post in FLAIR or identify if the revenues belong to another state agency and forward to the appropriate party.
• Researches and posts the Prior Year Warrant Cancellations and the 12-Month-Old Warrant Cancellations when reports are available in RDS monthly.
• Research and correct any revenue items identified that are not reconciled in state accounts to both FLAIR Central Accounting and Departmental FLAIR, by the Reconciliation Unit notifications (RFA.)
• Analyze and prepare year end accruals associated with Cash Management Section. This includes, but is not limited to: Service Charge to General Revenue, Unverified Deposits, Accounts Receivable Allowances, etc.
• Run daily the Unverified Report and Transfer Report, analyze for outstanding transactions, address transactions accordingly.

• Using both verbal and written communication with internal and external customers to discuss financial processes, issues, or work products of the unit.

Education and/or Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. If no bachelor’s degree: High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, business, and/or data analysis; or an associate’s degree with a focus in accounting and/or business and at least 2 years’ experience in similar fields.

The primary working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week in the office. This is not a work from home position.
