UVA Primary Care Culpeper is seeking a primary care physician for their practice in Culpeper, VA. This BE/BC provider may be specialized in family medicine or internal medicine. Position highlights include practice hours from Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, a 4 day work week with flexible scheduling, rotating call among all providers, an on-site lab, and telemedicine visits.

Job description includes providing physician services, managing patients in the clinic and other locations, working with the medical director and staff to facilitate patient management, exercising independent judgment in assessment and diagnosis, performing procedures and surgeries, ordering medications and treatments, consulting and referring to other physicians, evaluating patient responses, educating patients and families, participating in on-call responsibilities, managing patients according to UVA Health System policies, promoting communication between families and healthcare team, reporting births, deaths, and outbreaks, meeting quality standards, serving on committees, participating in clinical experiences, engaging in peer review activities, preparing reports and correspondence, promoting the professional practice of the group, performing other duties as assigned, following policies and procedures, accurately assigning CPT and ICD codes, working with administrative management on payor requirements, contributing to the education of other healthcare professionals, updating practice through continuing education, serving as a clinical resource, seeking professional growth opportunities, and performing other tasks as assigned.

Compensation includes a guaranteed annual compensation of $250,000 for years 1-2, structured according to specialty: Internal Medicine: $228,620 base salary + $21,380 guaranteed incentive; Family Medicine: $222,500 base salary + $27,500 guaranteed incentive. Providers may earn additional compensation through the wRVU productivity model if production exceeds the guaranteed threshold. Sign-on bonus offered. After year 2, compensation transitions to the applicable base salary plus a wRVU-based productivity incentive model.

Minimum requirements include a graduate of an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), completion of an accredited residency in chosen specialty, board certification in specialty, unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia, and current DEA certificate without restriction. Experience utilizing a personal computer and computerized scheduling is also required.

Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive), repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
