Be part of a fresh, growing team from day one in our brand-new building!Full-time and Part-time openings!The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for providing quality mammography studies as ordered by InterMed physicians and external physicians using ACR guidelines and excellent interpersonal skills.Core responsibilities include:Operate mammography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.Proper adjustment of equipmentAppropriate positioning of patientMinimizing patient discomfort while preventing motionAdjustment of protective lead shieldsAppropriate patient and image identification and processingPerform screening and diagnostic mammograms according to physician orders and radiology protocols.Ensure proper positioning and compression to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.Explain procedures to patients, addressing concerns to reduce anxiety.Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate results.Perform quality control checks and routine maintenance on imaging equipment.Stay current on best practices, accreditation requirements, and continuing education in mammography.Perform and document Quality Control duties as defined by the American College of Radiology and according to department protocol.Recognize and report any malfunction or variation of equipment to lead QC technologist or supervisor.Monitor supplies and order as necessary.Cover other sites or modalities as requested/needed, (if cross trained).Provide orientation and training of new mammography technologists.Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution techniques with patients, co-workers, physicians and other members of the health care team.Maintain certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and American Registry in Mammography.Maintain certification by Maine state license bureau.Perform other related duties incidental to work therein.Participate in and maintain all criteria of the MQSA EQUIP program.Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.Mission and values include:Follows InterMed's mission to provide patient-centered primary care, putting the patient first to deliver high quality, high value care.Provide the highest quality care to our patients with a level of service that exceeds their expectations.Maintain a positive attitude and always treat our patients and each other with dignity and respect.Insist on honesty and integrity from each other and our business partners.Make teamwork a core component of our relationships between physicians, staff, and patients.Embrace change to better serve our patients.Use business practices that feature individual accountability and group responsibility to ensure delivery of high value healthcare.Have fun as we carry out our mission to serve.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:Education:High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience:Previous radiology experience preferred. Previous mammography experience strongly preferred.License/Certifications:Successful completion of AMA accredited radiology program.ARRT certified in mammography digital mammography and digital breast tomosynthesis.Ability to use independent judgment.Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the breast, axilla, and chest wall.Skill in training co-workers in equipment operations.The estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation plans above and beyond base compensation.
