Position Summary
We are a growing residential construction company based in the Greater Rochester area , specializing in high-quality framing, custom decks, and additions. As we expand into the custom home market, we are looking for a motivated Carpenter Apprentice / Junior Carpenter to join our team. This is a position for someone with foundational skills who wants to master the trade, take on more responsibility over time, and grow with our business long-term. [1]
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with framing walls, roofs, floors, and building custom decks and additions.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other construction materials accurately.
- Operate essential hand and power tools safely, including circular saws, drills, and nail guns.
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at various residential job sites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing debris and hazards daily. [1]
Required Qualifications
- Basic carpentry experience (1–3 years in residential construction or framing preferred).
- Proficiency with standard tools , with an absolute requirement to accurately read a tape measure down to the fraction.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to travel to job sites throughout Monroe County .
- Strong work ethic , a desire to learn, and a commitment to showing up on time every day. [1, 2]
