This Project Manager role offers the opportunity to lead a diverse range of commercial and development projects from concept through completion. The position blends traditional construction project management with real estate development activities, including design coordination, permitting, feasibility planning, and development budgeting. You will work across sectors such as healthcare, institutional, municipal, housing, and public construction, while collaborating closely with design professionals and project stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring all phases progress smoothly and efficiently.
• Review drawings and specifications for constructability, coordination, and value engineering, and provide clear feedback to the project team.
• Develop, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and comprehensive project documentation.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring timely responses and accurate tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities, promoting effective communication and adherence to project requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison between owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure alignment and collaboration.
• Lead OAC and other project meetings, prepare and distribute detailed meeting minutes, and track action items to completion.
• Monitor project financials, including requisitions, cost controls, and budget performance, and report on financial status as needed.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and client expectations.
• Anticipate project challenges and proactively develop solutions to mitigate risks and maintain project momentum.
• Support internal real estate development initiatives from early planning through construction, contributing to strategic project decisions.
• Coordinate with in-house and external design professionals on conceptual layouts, feasibility studies, zoning, and permitting efforts.
• Assist with development budgeting, planning, and value engineering throughout the duration of each project.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and a focus on delivering exceptional results.
• Balance multiple priorities across concurrent projects while providing steady leadership to project teams.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, project management, architecture, or a related field.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, building systems, and project delivery methods.
• Proficiency with project management and construction software, including Procore and MS Project.
• Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders in a commercial construction environment.
• Demonstrated ability in project scheduling and schedule management.
• Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Experience participating in and leading OAC (OwnerArchitectContractor) meetings.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing documentation, schedules, and budgets.
• Proven leadership abilities and experience guiding project teams toward successful outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent projects while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive leadership mindset.
• Background in healthcare, institutional, municipal, housing, or public construction projects.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in New Haven, with regular travel to project sites approximately one to two times per week. You will work in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with direct access to leadership and a culture focused on long-term growth and developing future leaders. Projects are local to Connecticut, reducing extensive travel and allowing close engagement with communities where the work is performed. The organization offers a performance-based annual bonus, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid time off, and company holidays. The entire company closes for the week of Christmas in addition to the standard PTO package. A yearly car stipend supports travel to local project sites. You will use modern construction and project management technologies such as Procore and MS Project, and work closely with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel in a professional site and office setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

36 paid days off, health, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement benefits, and company resources, subject to eligibility and applicable company policies.
