Assistant Manager

Job Summary The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day club operations and ensuring performance and objectives are met to provide a “Judgement Free” member experience. Assistant Managers assist in hiring, firing, and training employees and lead the team in a positive, motivating manner with a continuous focus on employee development. They are also responsible for ensuring a financially successful club and regularly direct all front desk personnel. Reports to Club Manager Essential Duties And Responsibilities Daily Staff Management Duties Assist Club Manager in creating staffing schedules to ensure all shifts are covered. Lead by example, maintain accountability for direct reports, and coach staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Guide the team through systems and operations to achieve common goals. Prepare HR-related forms promptly. Resolve employee issues or concerns professionally. Assist in disciplinary and termination activities. Provide backup support for absent employees. Maintain integrity and security of staff files and sensitive documents. Represent the brand by promoting a Judgement Free lifestyle. Train and develop staff, providing daily coaching. Help with pre‑screening, hiring, firing, onboarding, and recruiting. Customer Service / Front Desk Activities Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service and making them feel comfortable and welcomed. Answer phones in a friendly and professional manner. Conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events. Respond to member questions and concerns promptly. Handle beverage or merchandise purchases on the POS systems. Assist in emergency medical situations. Enforce facility rules and policies. Detail tanning beds, acrylics, and vents weekly. Count and track inventory weekly. Run all necessary reports daily. Communicate effectively and clearly between all staff members. Member Accounts Use Datatrak to update barcodes and address or billing questions. Submit refund proposals properly. Create new memberships. Maintain security of member documents and sensitive information. Club Cleanliness and Maintenance Keep front desk area and lobby clean and orderly. Perform regular facility cleaning and upkeep. Clean and maintain equipment and tanning units daily. Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and clutter-free via a routine schedule. Complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities accurately. Oversee employee and member safety and report repairs promptly to the Director of Operations and maintenance technician. Conduct daily equipment checks and locker room walk-arounds every 15 minutes. Hold the team accountable for cleaning lists and assigned equipment. Miscellaneous Order club supplies within budget based on club requirements. Track performance indicators such as guest counts, cancellations, and info calls. Manage marketing efforts by ensuring staff is aware of promotions. Assist in completing recorded information call inspections. Actively participate in growth and development opportunities. Partner successfully with team members and senior leadership. Qualifications / Skills One year of customer service experience preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years or older. CPR certification required. Willing to travel occasionally for training and to support other locations. Flexible to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shifts. Continual talking in person or on the phone. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, pulling, and grasping.
