Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Indiana Driver's License with good driving record.
Positive and mature attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must have an interest in the well-being of residents and be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and providers as well as other members of the caregiving team.
Must be 25 years or older

Physical Demands:

Frequent pushing and pulling of 100 pounds via wheelchairs and cots
Frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
Minimal lifting, over 25 pounds
Frequent standing and sitting, 1-2 hours at a time
Frequent walking

Responsibilities:

Maintains a well-groomed appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability.
Maintains a sense of responsibility and pride in the position.
Knowledge of locations of various facilities.
Knowledge of the general policies of the facility, including the fire/disaster emergency procedures.
Knowledge and adherence to Indiana's Drivers Laws and regulations
Must practice safe driving by avoiding distractions, staying off cellular devices, utilizing seatbelts, etc. Ensures that all residents always utilize the seatbelt (No Exceptions)
Provides resident confidentiality and safety while upholding resident rights.
Participate in educational in-services and training provided by the facility.
Manages time effectively
Assist residents getting into and out of the vehicle. Must be able to operate the wheelchair lift/ramp
Reports all incidents or accidents to Supervisor
Must immediately call 911 if any injuries occur from accidents/incidents.
Follows all traffic laws
Other duties as assigned
