Job Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality, patient-focused care tailored to the specific needs of the department, while adhering to the standards of practice relevant to the state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other care team members, the RN delivers personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care by employing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to the overall success of the department.

  • Regularly evaluates patient pain to ensure effective pain management, including follow-up assessments after interventions.
  • Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
  • Delivers exceptional care by promptly addressing patient requests and proactively anticipating their needs.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
  • Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-pharmacological follow-up measures, such as healthy eating, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications, preparing them for future self-management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 60 days of starting employment.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within 1 year of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Educational qualifications include an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Registered Nurse Diploma, or Master’s Degree.
  • Occasional/Intermittent availability is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
