About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse License: Current RN License Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse 3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU 2 years minimum PICU experience as a staff nurse Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and postoperative management of CHD patients Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, transthoracic lines Description: Team cares for ICU and step-down level patients for continuity of care. Number of beds: 27 Number of staff: 90 Patient ratios: 1:2, 1:1, and occasionally 1:3 Utilizes equipment such as IV pumps, beds, radiant warmers, and EMR systems. Typical procedures include central line and arterial line placement, conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, postoperative recovery, codes, ECMO cannulation, and manual PD. Best personality fit includes compassionate and empathetic care delivery, hardworking team player, meticulousness, and adaptability. Floating areas may include PICU, NICU, pediatric med surg, and pediatric oncology. Rotating weekends are required with no call obligation.
