Home Infusion Registered Nurse (PRN)

Home Infusion Registered Nurse (PRN) Location: Overland Park, KS (and Olathek, KS) Type: PRN – no guaranteed schedule, up to 5‑10+ hrs/week depending on availability. Pay: $42‑$46 per hour (DOE). Mileage reimbursement at $.48 per mile.Travel within a 2‑hour radius to patient homes. Summary Working under a supervising nurse, perform technical, clerical, and clinical tasks for patient home care. Responsibilities include assessment, IV/port access, education, infusion of injectable medications, and pharmacy quality control tasks such as record management and inventory control. Responsibilities Administer specialty medications via IV, subcutaneous, or other prescribed routes. Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions. Assess medical histories, allergies, and medications; evaluate vital signs before, during, and after treatment. Educate patients and caregivers on medication use, side effects, and emergency procedures. Conduct follow‑up calls or visits to monitor progress and adjust care plans. Maintain accurate records of infusions, patient responses, and documentation per regulatory standards. Collaborate with nursing and pharmacy teams for optimal patient care. Prepare and handle medications safely, verifying correct drug and dosage. Adhere to sterile technique, infection control, and safety protocols. Manage inventory of specialty medications and infusion supplies; coordinate with pharmacy team. Assist with insurance verification or authorization for specialty medications. IgCN‑Certified Nurse Responsibilities Participate in CSI’s Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program, if operationally required. Serve as mentor for new or transferring local or regional nursing staff. Provide coaching, training, and clinical support to enhance immunoglobulin therapy delivery. Document mentorship activities and competency assessments. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum 2 years RN experience. Preferred: 1 year in ER/ICU/Infusion; 1 year in maintaining PIV, ports, and PICC lines. Preferred: 1 year infusion experience in hospital or home health setting. Ability to travel within a 2‑hour radius of Overland Park/Olathe, KS. Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen that includes medical and recreational marijuana testing.
