Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to support the planning, layout, and design of structural systems for industrial and commercial projects. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating design deliverables throughout all project phases, including 3D models, construction drawings, details, and documentation. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, project teams, and other disciplines to develop practical design solutions, resolve conflicts, and ensure high-quality project execution. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of design packages, lead system or area-level design efforts, and provide guidance to junior designers while working with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate structural design deliverables including models, plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and construction details.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for all project phases, from concept through construction.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions and resolve design conflicts.
• Perform field surveys and verify existing site conditions as required.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Review project specifications and ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate design activities across disciplines and address field and constructability issues.
• Review submittals and support responses to design-related requests and inquiries.
• Provide labor estimates and support project planning efforts.
• Lead system, area, or discipline-specific design activities and mentor junior designers.
• Review the work of other designers for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Assist with engineering calculations under the direction of project engineers when required.

Required Qualifications:

• Significant experience in structural design and drafting for industrial, commercial, or related projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience utilizing Navisworks and Bluebeam for model review and coordination.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles, industry standards, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to independently develop design solutions and manage assigned project scope with minimal supervision.
• Experience coordinating designs across multiple disciplines and resolving design conflicts.
• Strong knowledge of project deliverables, construction documentation, and design workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to estimate work effort, manage priorities, and meet project schedules.
• Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior designers.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience performing field surveys and incorporating existing conditions into design packages.
• Ability to function as a lead designer for systems, buildings, or project areas.
