Miller Brother Staffing Solutions has an open Shipping-Receiving Clerk position with a company in Erie, PA. This is a 1st shift position with a pay range of $16-19/hour.

Shift: 1st 8am-4pm Monday-Friday

Position Summary


This is a full-time position under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager/Shop Supervisor. The position performs a variety of shipping, receiving, stocking, inventory, and material-handling activities.


The Warehouse/Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory and stock records, storing and distributing supplies and tools, coordinating stock, and providing support for shipping and receiving operations.


Essential Duties

• Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile shipments with purchase orders.
• Process and distribute documentation associated with purchase orders.
• Report, document, and track damages and discrepancies on orders received.
• Ship cancelled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate and maintain required paperwork.
• Maintain the warehouse in a neat and orderly manner in compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform general warehouse housekeeping, including sweeping, dusting, and other maintenance necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.
• Verify inventory and investigate discrepancies.
• Properly label stock items according to established requirements.
• Issue materials to work orders based on shop requirements.
• Properly dispose of excess or obsolete stock as directed by management.
• Assist the shipping/receiving department with loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
• Move materials from receiving or warehouse areas to designated locations.
• Place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
• Assemble customer orders from stock, package materials, and prepare required shipping documentation.
• Accurately record quantities of material received and their storage locations.
• Assist with ongoing physical inventory counts as needed.
• Prepare and process written reports and distribute information and materials to appropriate personnel.
• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to transport materials to designated areas.
• Set up and tear down molds in the plastics room.
• Operate plastic and pleater machines.
• Clean and maintain the Plastic and Pleater rooms on a weekly basis.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance to ensure safe operation.
• Perform facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
• Lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and materials over 35 pounds with assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of shipping/receiving and/or warehouse experience.
• Prior experience with UPS and other shipping carriers preferred.
• Forklift operation experience, including both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Must possess forklift certification or be able to successfully complete certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of general warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when creating and tracking shipping documentation.
• Forklift operation and safety knowledge.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide using tens and hundreds.
• Ability to perform basic calculations involving units of weight, volume, and distance.
• Basic language skills, including the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
