Cooke emphasizes individualized, strengths-based education with integrated therapeutic services, adaptive skill development, and a strong focus on student independence. Position: Occupational Therapist Location: Cooke School & Institute — 1713 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10029 Setting: School-Based Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM Pay: $55–65+/hr based on experience (W-2) Openings: 1 Start: ASAP Initial Assignment: Approximately 8 weeks, with the possibility of an extension through the school year In-Person Position Cooke's K–8 program features small classrooms and integrated OT, PT, speech, and counseling services. Occupational therapists collaborate with teachers and other related service providers both in classrooms and in individual settings to support students' developmental and functional needs. Key Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to K–8 students Support students with mild to moderate cognitive and developmental disabilities Collaborate closely with teachers, related service providers, parents, and school staff Integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom and school activities Support students' functional, adaptive, sensory, and daily living skills Develop collaborative relationships that promote student participation and independence Contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on individualized student growth Requirements Valid and current New York State Occupational Therapy license and/or certification to practice in New York Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary school environment Why This Role?
