Associate/Fellow - Grady Burns - Department of Surgery

Description The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a Board-certified surgeon seeking additional training in burn/trauma/surgical critical care to join our faculty for a one-year non-ACGME fellowship. The entire burn team participates actively in multi-specialty research endeavors and many are generously supported with funds for conference presentation and attendance. Grady’s Burn Unit admits over 700 patients a year, including adult and pediatric patients, in a contemporary facility that provides comprehensive burn care. We are a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, Emory and Morehouse general and plastic surgery residents, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists and other ancillary staff. It is the only burn center in Georgia backed by a Level I Trauma Center (the Trauma Center admits about 4500 patients a year). See link for additional information about the Center: Responsibilities include supervision of a multidisciplinary team along with integral involvement with ICU rounds and the operating room. There are extraordinary opportunities for clinical research based on patient volumes and acuity. The ideal candidate should have a background or strong interest in clinical research (candidates with MPH, MSc or similar degree are very welcome to apply). Leadership opportunities in the unit exist as well. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.
