MRI Technologist - 12 Hour Shifts

Location: Janesville, WI

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Thursday - Saturday, 7 AM - 7 PM, with call rotation required.

Job Description: The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including alternate shifts and weekends to ensure quality patient care. The technologist will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and participate in various committees and projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI procedures as per the order of licensed medical practitioners.
• Prepare patients for procedures, providing necessary instructions to minimize anxiety.
• Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Operate MRI systems and related equipment to achieve optimal imaging results.
• Position patients securely and comfortably, ensuring proper immobilization when required.
• Perform venipuncture and administer contrast media as needed.
• Evaluate technical quality of images and data, manipulating and reconstructing digital data for display.
• Maintain patient physical and psychological needs throughout procedures.
• Document all required records, utilizing radiology information systems including PACS.
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary, and provide practical instruction to partners and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program (education verification required).
• Experience as an MRI Technologist.
• ARRT Radiography registration and ARRT MRI registration required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
