Registered Nurse Full Time Queens, NY, US Summary This position is primarily responsible for oversight of resident’s medical needs daily and also includes documentation of self-medication monitored by the LPN of whom they supervise. This position reports to the Residential Coordinator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Designing of training and care plans programs. Medication self-medication monitoring. Administer medication and regulate participant treatment. Provision of physical and emotional support for participants and their families. Access participant physical health and seek resources to diagnosis, treat, and monitor. Access participant’s readiness to change and provision of support, as well as, education along the way. Counseling and rehabilitation: give support and dealing with the causes of chemical dependency misuse. Needle exchange: provision of clean sharps and give advice on how to use chemicals safely to reduce harm to self and society. Provision of ongoing support for participants while they deal with their chemical dependency misuse issues. Education and/or Experience: As is relative to OASAS regulations: The RN must hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Must have at least 1-2 years of experience working in the field of chemical dependency. Must successfully complete a criminal background check, obtain clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services and be chemical dependency free.
