Job Description
Carilion Clinic has an opening for a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join the Section of Cardiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703 bed Level 1 Trauma/Tertiary Care Center serving over one million people in Virginia. Appointment at the Virginia Tech School of Medicine with teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and cardiology Fellows is available at our academic medical center. Research opportunities at Carilion or in collaboration with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute are available. State-of-the-art facilities including 6 catherization laboratories, 64 - slice detector CT scanner, cardiac MRI, electrophysiology, structural heart program, ventricular assist devices and CT Surgery. Required qualifications include board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease. Echo and nuclear skills are required and advanced imaging certification is desirable. Intermittent outreach to hospitals or clinics within 60 minutes of Roanoke is expected.

Carilion Clinic's Cardiovascular Institute will expand significantly over the next seven years with the organization investing over $1 billion on capital improvements, including $200 million to equip the new Crystal Spring Tower dedicated to providing care for emergency and heart patients as well as behavioral health. The building is slated to open in 2025. The new signature building will have 4 stories and 100 beds dedicated to cardiovascular patients and will serve as the largest cardiac catherization lab in our region focusing on heart bypass surgery and an aortic center including aortic valve surgery and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair along with heart failure and COPD.
