Shift Schedule

Night shift coverage: 19:00 - 07:00 (3x12-hour shifts)

Position Description

Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for night shift coverage. The role involves 80% Labor & Delivery and 20% Mother & Baby/Postpartum responsibilities.

Weekend rotation and coverage will be discussed during the interview. Flexibility is preferred, with minimal requests for time off. Travel experience is required, and only candidates residing outside the local area will be considered.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
  • Patient Ratio Experience: Experience handling a 2:1 patient ratio
  • Charting System Experience: Required (specifically with Community Hospital)
  • LTAC Experience: Preferred
  • Trauma Level I & II Experience: Preferred
  • Travel Experience: Required
Certifications Required
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • AWHONN Beginner
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • BLS
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
Skills Required
  • Administration of blood and blood products
  • Management of adult cardiac arrest
  • Antepartum and postpartum care
  • Assistance with labor and delivery, including high-risk deliveries
  • Neonatal resuscitation and assessment
  • Support for breastfeeding and lactation
  • Experience with various obstetrical conditions and emergencies

Unit Details

Staffing & Scheduling: Block scheduling with a 2:1 patient ratio. Weekend coverage required based on unit needs. Orientation involves a combination of virtual and on-site training.

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 3-5 patients

Additional Unit Information: The unit provides Level III obstetric care, managing a variety of complex conditions.

Special Procedures/Unit Details

The nursing staff will be responsible for labor, delivery, recovery, and transitioning newborns. The unit boasts advanced technology for monitoring and supporting mothers and infants.
