About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of recent experience required License: Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required, CPI preferred Must-Have: - Blood Product Administration - Central Line Blood Draw - Chest Tubes Management - Colostomy/Ileostomy Care - Feeding Tube Management - Insulin Administration - Non-Invasive Airway Management - Oxygen Administration - Phlebotomy - IV Start and Maintenance - Wound Care Description: Nights shift available for Medical Surgical unit. 36 or 48 hour options available; anything over 48 hours is considered overtime. BLS and NIHSS certifications are required for this position. CPI certification is preferred. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Rapid response team activation is expected. Recent experience in similar roles is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Epic charting experience is required. No call required; floating to similar units is expected. Weekend coverage involves 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period. The unit has a total of 32 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Patients are typically adults and geriatrics. Responsibilities include wound care, surgical drain management, and more. All travelers are expected to float to like units as needed based on facility requirements. The work environment is dynamic, necessitating adaptability and strong clinical skills.
