GIS Analyst III

Land Gis Mapper

Location: Houston, Texas or Denver, CO (Remote)

Role Overview

This role involves mapping agreements, maintaining the team's ArcGIS Portal, and providing spatial analysis. The primary responsibilities include land spatial data mapping and cleanup using specialized GIS tools and land system software to reference agreement records and documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain land spatial data within an SDE database using ArcGIS Pro.
• Utilize Quorum GIS spatial data creation tools to generate and maintain land spatial data.
• Understand and map land legal descriptions, including metes and bounds.
• Work with geographical projections and transformations during data creation.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 1+ years of experience mapping spatial data from land survey descriptions (e.g., metes and bounds, quarter calls) using Quorum GIS tools or similar software such as LandWorks.
• 1+ years of experience maintaining data within SDE databases.
• 1+ years of professional experience with ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry is preferred.

Skills:

• A solid functional knowledge of core GIS concepts, including coordinate systems and transformations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot geospatial data-related issues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work with low levels of supervision.

Education:

• An Associate's degree in GIS or Geography is desired. Relevant years of experience in spatial data creation may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Work Environment

• This role is remote, but candidates should be located near a company office in Houston or Denver.
• Work schedule is typically 5/40, but a 9/80 schedule can be considered.
