RN PCU

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring stepdown monitoring, including surgical, medical, and neurological cases. This role involves managing complex patient needs such as vasoactive drip titration, advanced airway care, and vascular device management. The nurse collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. A minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, including ICU and PCU, is required. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, including ICU and PCU.
• Proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access, and central line management.
• Experience with vasoactive medication titration.
• Ability to manage advanced airway devices including CPAP, BiPAP, and tracheostomies.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Experience obtaining 12 Lead EKGs, sheath removal, and performing cardioversion/defibrillation.
• Knowledge of dialysis fistula care and arterial line management.
• Familiarity with orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and oncology nursing care.

• Stepdown unit floating required.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:3, not guaranteed.
• Work involves complex, fast-paced clinical environment with critically ill patients.

• Night shift position.
• 36-hour workweek.
