MAMMAOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST, Per Diem

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist

Performs diagnostic mammography/Dexa/X-ray procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their mammogram. Participates in CQI activities.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards and extraneous radiation to patients
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure
• Thorough understanding of breast anatomy
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors

Qualifications:

• High school graduate; BS degree preferred
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) in radiography and certified/board eligible in mammography
• Certified in the State of Nevada to practice and administer radiation
• One-year mammography experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
