PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Janitor / Day Porter is part of the Maintenance team.  Responsible for building and grounds / parking lot maintenance, as well as janitorial work in common areas of commercial shopping centers at various onsite locations assigned to him/her. The Janitor / Day Porter is the field representative of Texas Maintenance Solutions and maintains a professional personal appearance and business manners. 

Janitorial Day Porter responsibilities include:

• Ensure proper inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Ensure efficiency of work team and adjust, as necessary.
• Blow/Sweep Sidewalks
• Pick up and removal of outdoor loose trash around buildings, walkways, landscaping, and parking lot.
• Empty common area trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Pick up loose trash in rear areas and place in dumpsters.
• Wipe off window mullions
• Check that vacancy doors are locked
• Monitor and clean riser rooms monthly
• Provide immediate notification of any emergency conditions encountered.
• Willingness to engage in hands-on work when team is short-staffed or behind schedule.
