OPS REGISTERED NURSE (Position Number: 50509374) Alexander “Sandy” Nininger State Veterans’ Nursing Home, Pembroke Pines, Broward County, FL. Hourly Rate: $30.60 hourly, paid bi‑weekly. Minimum Qualifications Must possess a current Florida Registered Nurse License Must possess a current CPR certification Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be willing and able to work evening, night, and weekend shifts Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include a Level II Background check and drug screen Preferred Qualifications Experience in long‑term care or 120‑bed skilled nursing facility Experience with Electronic Medical Records Experience with medication administration Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Position Description The incumbent is responsible for administering prescribed medications, providing direct ADL care, and completing diagnostic procedures as requested by the attending physician on an assigned shift per established policies and procedures. The role reports directly to the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor. Receive and transcribe physician orders, including telephone orders, into all appropriate documents. Make rounds with physicians and other health care personnel. Monitor completion of physician orders and follow up on resident incidents or complaints. Count narcotics at the beginning and end of shift; ensure accurate narcotic records. Supervise (lead worker duties) the facility on assigned shifts as required. Review work assignments with staff, assign team members based on patient needs and available staffing. Ensure CNAs are in the dining room on time. Problem‑solve with coworkers before involving supervisor. Recognize and respond to changes in residents’ conditions; record observations accurately. Notify supervisor, physician, and family of changes; document all notifications. Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of the Florida Nursing Practice Act. Receive and give reports at shift start and end through walking rounds with incoming and outgoing nurses. Complete, sign, and date the MDS, RAP modules, and additional assessments for assigned residents within the designated time frame. Review and update care plans; notify the chairperson if changes are required and attend interdisciplinary care plans when requested. Maintain professional standards of nursing care. Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations and the facility’s policies and procedures. Attend mandatory and non‑mandatory in‑services, meetings, care plans, and MDS as required. Ensure economical use of supplies and proper charging of items to resident accounts. Maintain equipment clean and safe. Maintain valid CPR certification and perform as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor. This position is in the Other Personnel Service (Temporary) system.
