About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Specialty License: Compact or LA License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: - Experience with Transplant Recovery (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas) - Epic Experience - Experience with PA Catheters & Balloon Pumps Description: This position requires high acuity ICU experience. The patient ratio will be 1:2. The candidate must be comfortable floating to other ICUs and SDUs. Required skills include accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, and ventilator management. The candidate should have experience in blood product administration and care of ventilated patients. Knowledge in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is essential. Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy is required. The candidate must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases. Experience in caring for post-op cardiac surgery patients is a plus. Working with chronic/acute renal failure patients is expected. Candidates should be familiar with infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions. The work will involve managing cardiac drips and vasoactive drips. Oscillation skills such as IABP and ECMO are important but not mandatory. All candidates must adhere to the requirement of a COVID-19 vaccine, with medical or religious exemptions only. Candidates should be prepared to report as assigned in the event of an emergency situation. No scheduling requests will be accommodated.
