Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Vice President-Construction (VPC), the Project Engineer (PE) is the primary support to the Project Manager (PM) and Project Superintendent (PS) in all aspects of the project from Startup to Closeout. The PE's primary focus is achieving administrative mastery of TPC systems as relates to the buyout, submittals, RFI's, project scheduling, the change order process, document control, and project closeout.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists PM with all aspects of Project Management. May be given primary responsibility for a variety of Project Management duties.
• Coordinates with Subcontractors, Architects and Owners to facilitate timely review and processing of submittals.
• Identifies long lead times and ensures timely processing of submittals to facilitate delivery of materials to jobsite in order to meet Project Schedule.
• Coordinates with Subcontractors, Architects and Owners to facilitate timely processing and distribution of RFI's.
• Assists PM in procurement and management of Change Order Request (COR) process, creation and tracking of RFQ's and COR's.
• Maintains all required business related records and logs. Is organizationally responsible for timely and appropriate physical filing and record keeping.
• Coordinates weekly meeting logistics, documenting minutes and ensuring timely distribution to project members.
• Takes weekly project progress photos.
• Assists PM in ensuring that office and field documents are updated. 
• Assists PM and PS with development and timely execution of project punch list.
• Coordinates timely assembly of all required project closeout documents including Warranties, Owners and Maintenance Manuals, As-Built drawings, etc.
• Implements and adheres to all TPC safety standards, policies and procedures including TPC's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and Heat Illness Prevention Plan (HIPP).
• Assists Estimating Department as needed.
• Assists PM with processing of subcontractor billings and owner invoices, in coordination with the Accounting Department.
• Assists VPC with managing biweekly Operations meeting agenda, sub commitment log and project updates.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required (Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree preferred) from an accredited 4-year University or five years experience in commercial construction.
• Experience in commercial construction related to retail, site development, light industrial, auto, tenant improvement or grocery preferred.
• Experience in storm water management for construction operations preferred.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) preferred.
• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to adapt to various construction management software programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Procore preferred.

Working Conditions:

• TPC's headquarters is located in Rocklin, CA (Sacramento area). However, this position is located in our Bay Area's satellite office in Santa Clara. (Not a remote or hybrid position.)
• This position is classified as Exempt and employees may work more or less than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in any workweek without change in compensation.
• This position is generally assigned to a Monday through Friday workweek between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but employees may be required to work any day at any time when deemed appropriate.
• This position requires frequent (minimum weekly) visits to construction jobsites.  Physical conditions at jobsites are varied. When visiting jobsites, PEs should expect a lot of walking often on uneven surfaces.
• Must be compliant with the TPC Substance Abuse and Driving Policies.
• Must adhere to all applicable TPC Policy and Procedures.
• Must adhere to the TPC Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
