Principal Investigator – Psychiatry Clinical Research

Metric Bio is partnered with a leading clinical research site network to appoint an experienced Principal Investigator with a strong background in Psychiatry studies.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing research organisation at the forefront of CNS and psychiatric clinical trials, supporting cutting-edge therapies across a diverse patient population in the Los Angeles area.

The Opportunity

As Principal Investigator, you will provide medical oversight across a broad portfolio of Psychiatry clinical studies, working alongside an established research infrastructure with dedicated coordinators, raters, and operational support teams.

The organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering complex CNS trials and offers access to a robust patient database, advanced research capabilities, and long-term study pipelines with global sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator across Phase I–IV Psychiatry clinical trials
• Ensure patient safety, protocol compliance, and regulatory oversight
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and study assessments
• Collaborate closely with sponsors, CROs, and internal research teams
• Support patient recruitment and retention strategies
• Maintain high-quality standards in line with GCP and FDA regulations
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the clinical research team

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Active and unrestricted California medical license
• Prior experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical research
• Strong understanding of CNS/Psychiatry trials
• Experience working within industry-sponsored studies preferred
• Passion for advancing innovative mental health treatments through research
