PreferredSummary of what you will do – (see organization career page post for full job description)Works as a liaison between patient, radiation oncologist and other clinical staff. Including Completing daily warm up on machines to ensure they are working properly prior to radiation administration and reports concerns to physicist and radiation oncologist.Acquire MV, KV, CBCT imaging of patient per directions of Radiation Oncologist to determine the exact location of the area requiring treatment. Operates the machine to treat the patient with radiation. Checks plan for approved prescription to make sure the machine will deliver prescribed dose of radiation to the appropriate area of the patient's body.Explains treatment plans to the patient and answers questions about treatment.Monitors and reports untoward/problematic symptoms, reactions, therapeutic responses, and incompatibilities to radiation oncologist.Follows safety procedures to protect the patient and themselves from overexposure to radiation.Monitors the patient to check for unusual reactions to the treatment.Documents detailed records of treatment.Fulfills call duties according to departmental call back policy, as requested.Withholds treatment when conditions warrant and consults with a Radiation Oncologist before proceeding.Stormont Vail is an equal opportunity employer and adheres to the philosophy and practice of providing equal opportunities for all employees and prospective employees, without regard to the following classifications: race, color, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, uniformed service, disability or genetic information.
