Job Details Job ID: 5716098 Application Deadline: May 29, 2026 11:59 PM (UTC) Posted: May 15, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Position Type: Full-time Job Description Provide occupational therapy services to students aged 3–22 across preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels, per Individual Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 Plans. Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and develop, implement, and monitor therapy plans, including sensory, motor, self‑help, fine motor, and visual activities. Adapt classroom environments, materials, and activities to support student participation and access to education. Perform standardized and non‑standardized assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress. Participate in referral meetings, IEP/504 Plan development, and progress review meetings; provide detailed reports and recommendations. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records, evaluation reports, progress notes, and treatment logs; contribute to data collection for progress monitoring and goal achievement. Ensure compliance with Medicaid and state billing requirements while adhering to HIPAA standards. Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, administrators, and families to support student needs. Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and parent conferences as required; provide strategies, accommodations, and training. Communicate regularly with the supervising OTR/L; contribute to district‑wide special education initiatives. Create and update occupational therapy protocols and intervention plans tailored to student needs. Advocate for student needs and promote inclusive practices within the school environment. Travel between school sites within the Foster‑Glocester Regional School District as needed. Perform other related special education tasks as directed. Qualifications Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Valid and current Rhode Island Occupational Therapy Assistant License issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health. Two to three years of experience in a school setting or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Rhode Island State assessment procedures, IDEA, Section 504, and relevant educational laws. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Proficiency in major computer software, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and student information systems such as Aspen and PowerSchools. Familiarity with electronic documentation and billing systems for Medicaid compliance. Strong communication, planning, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize needs, work effectively with others at all levels, and advocate for students. Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and drive; valid driver’s license. Preferred: At least 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred: High school/Trade School degree.
