Physician Liaison

Prime Vascular Care is an independent vascular surgery practice providing comprehensive vascular care throughout Northern Virginia. Our services include evaluation and treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), limb-threatening ischemia and nonhealing wounds, venous disease, dialysis access, carotid and aortic disease, and vascular diagnostic ultrasound. We are seeking an energetic and relationship-oriented Physician Liaison / Business Development Representative to expand relationships with physicians, medical practices, dialysis centers, wound-care programs, and other healthcare organizations throughout Northern Virginia. This is primarily a field-based relationship-development position, not a desk-based marketing role. The Opportunity The Physician Liaison will serve as the primary relationship between Prime Vascular Care and the local medical community. The primary objective is simple: Make it easy for healthcare providers to access high-quality vascular care for their patients and develop long-term referral relationships with Prime Vascular Care. The successful candidate will spend significant time in the community meeting physicians, practice managers, referral coordinators and healthcare organizations. Priority referral relationships will include podiatry, wound care, primary care, nephrology, dialysis centers, cardiology, endocrinology, hospital-based providers and other specialists caring for patients with vascular disease. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, practice managers, referral coordinators, dialysis centers, wound-care programs and healthcare organizations throughout Northern Virginia. * Conduct regular in-person visits to existing and prospective referral practices. * Introduce physicians and staff to Prime Vascular Care’s clinical capabilities and referral pathways. * Promote rapid access for patients requiring evaluation for PAD, nonhealing wounds, limb-threatening ischemia, dialysis-access problems, venous disease and other vascular conditions. * Identify barriers that prevent practices from referring patients and work with PVC leadership and staff to resolve them. * Educate referring practices about PVC’s vascular diagnostic and treatment capabilities. * Establish relationships with new referring physicians and strengthen relationships with existing referral sources. * Coordinate educational meetings, physician introductions, office presentations and selected community events. * Maintain an organized CRM/database documenting outreach, contacts, meetings, follow-up activities and referral development. * Track referral patterns and identify practices with significant growth potential. * Work closely with PVC’s front-office team to ensure referred patients receive timely scheduling and excellent service. * Ensure referring providers receive appropriate follow-up communication regarding their patients. * Provide regular reports to practice leadership regarding outreach activity, new referral relationships, referral trends and opportunities. * Represent Prime Vascular Care professionally and ethically throughout the Northern Virginia medical community. What We Are Looking For We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience in physician relations, medical business development, healthcare sales, provider relations or healthcare outreach. Experience developing relationships with physicians in Northern Virginia is strongly preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in wound care, dialysis/nephrology, home health, vascular/cardiovascular care, diagnostic imaging, medical devices, specialty practices or other physician-facing healthcare organizations are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is someone who already understands how physician practices operate and knows how to build genuine, long-term professional relationships. Qualifications Preferred: * Healthcare business development, physician liaison, provider relations or medical sales experience * Existing relationships with Northern Virginia physicians or healthcare organizations * Experience calling on physician practices * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Strong organizational and follow-up skills * Comfortable initiating relationships with physicians and practice administrators * Ability to work independently in the field * Familiarity with CRM or referral-tracking systems * Understanding of healthcare referral workflows * Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel A bachelor’s degree is preferred but relevant healthcare relationship-development experience is more important than a specific degree. Territory The primary territory will include Loudoun, Fairfax and Prince William Counties and surrounding Northern Virginia communities, with particular emphasis around Prime Vascular Care’s Sterling and Woodbridge locations. Regular local travel is required. Administrative work may be performed from the Sterling office or remotely as appropriate, but this is not a fully remote position. How Success Will Be Measured This is a results-oriented position.
