Certified Surgical Tech, L&D Nights - $20k Bonus

Job Summary The Certified Surgical Technologist is an unlicensed member of the surgical team who scrubs and/or assists during surgical procedures. This position functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect patient care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, by assisting in the preparation of the patient and environment for the performance of surgical procedures. The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for knowing the surgeon's routine and preferences. Position Details Full Time | Nights 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Call requirement Compensation Sign‑on bonus: $20,000 (taxable) paid over 2 years (not applicable to current or former VUMC staff who have worked in the past 12 months) Relocation bonus: up to $10,000 (taxable) based on mileage, payable within 45 days of hire, for relocation >100 miles (not applicable to current or former VUMC staff who have worked in the past 12 months) Responsibilities Assist the surgical team during procedures, scrubbing in and providing equipment asepsis Assist in patient and environment preparation for surgery Provide direct and indirect patient care across all age groups (pediatric to geriatric) Maintain sterile field and follow surgeon's routine and preferences Qualifications Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program or completion of a surgical technologist training program while serving in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces Less than 1 year of relevant work experience Certification from NBSTSA CST (National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants) or NCCT TS‑C (National Center for Competency Testing, Tech In Surgery) – unless graduated from an armed‑forces surgical technologist training program, in which case certification is not required Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including health, disability, retirement, and wellness offerings to enhance well‑being and professional growth.
