ER Nurse

The ER Nurse, under supervision of the Nurse Manager and the nursing supervisor is responsible for the nursing care of the patients in the emergency department and is responsible for the direction of patient care. The RN delivers care based on patient needs appropriate for the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adults, and geriatric patients. He/she demonstrates an interest in patient centered approach to total nursing care. Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. The RN shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies.

Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing as evidenced by verification of state licensure. Diploma preferred.

Experience: Two years of experience in a hospital or medical environment is preferred.

Licenses/Certificates: Current Tennessee or Compact State registered nurse license required. Current BLS, PALS and ACLS required. If not ACLS certified on hire, must acquire within 30 days. Free-Standing Emergency Room Experience preferred
