RN - Registered Nurse - PACU/Recovery - Days

Position Overview

Orthosports PACU Department, Full Time Days, 8:30a-9p Monday-Friday, 3-12's with call. No holidays or weekends unless on call, UAB ST Vincent's Birmingham. ***One year of critical care, ER, or PACU experience highly preferred

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period.

• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Professional licensure at time of hire required.
