Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem)

Location Detail: 100 Grand Street, New Britain (10126) The Hospital of Central Connecticut is actively hiring Pharmacy Technicians for our inpatient Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians assist in performing pharmaceutical functions, including: Unit dose dispensing Compound preparation Other related procedures requiring knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology There is an opportunity to specialize in sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, or obtaining medication histories in the Emergency Department. Qualifications Exemplary customer service and communication skills. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. Prior experience in a sterile compounding environment preferred. High School Diploma required or equivalent. Completion of Pharmacy Technician program preferred. Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification strongly preferred. Pharmacy registration with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31 each year.
